COME PLATFORM ME
Come Platform Me is our programme set up to support people from marginalised backgrounds get into the music industry. We run two strands: our Promoter Programme and our Introduction to Sound Programme.
The Promoter strand has been running since 2021 and this year we are now onto the 5th round of the programme. In previous rounds we have supported over 30 people on so many incredible gigs, club nights, drag events, panels and workshops [scroll down this page and check out all the incredible lineups we've had!].
This round we are doing things a little different. We have decided to go back through our alumni and select 4 promotion companies that are doing some amazing things in Leeds and support them to further their careers. As well as supporting our alumni, we decided to do a call out for more events enthusiasts who want to join forces with the alumni promotion companies to enhance their vision and allow for more collaboration and to develop their expertise.
The Introduction to Sound strand is in collaboration with Hyde Park Book Club and Eiger Studios. It consists of 2 courses for people from marginalised backgrounds; one for live sound and one for studio sound. We’re super excited for this new element of Come Platform Me and have had SO many incredible applications which proves to us how wanted/needed free courses like these are! We can't wait to get going with this and hope that this is just the start of something beautiful!
