Come Platform Me is our programme set up to support people from marginalised backgrounds to further their careers in the live music industry.
 
We've supported over 40 promoters and 20 sound engineers from marginalised backgrounds to produce incredible gigs, club nights, drag events, panels and workshops or get the skills to kick off their careers in studio / live sound engineering.

COME PLATFORM ME 'INTRODUCTION TO SOUND' PROGRAMME

A five-week programme for emerging engineers ready to take the next step toward professional sound work. Hosted at Our House Studios in Meanwood, Leeds, sessions take place once a week during the daytime, giving you hands-on experience in a real studio environment.

What you’ll get

  • 5 full hands-on sessions in a professional studio

  • Practical recording & mixing skills

  • 1–1 mentoring from an industry professional

  • Credit on a group-recorded live session for your portfolio

  • Opportunity to shadow a Live Sound Engineer

Sessions cover drums, guitars, piano, vocals, post-production, mixing, and culminate in a live session recording. You’ll actively participate, build confidence, and strengthen your pathway into professional studio and live sound work.

Who it’s for

Open to applicants across the UK who can attend all five sessions in Leeds. Applications are particularly encouraged from marginalised backgrounds, including people who identify as BIPOC, Disabled, Neurodiverse, Gender Diverse, LGBTQ+, or from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

This programme is fully funded and free for all successful applicants.

'COME PLATFORM ME' EARLY PROMOTORS PROGRAMME

 

Access to putting on events as an independent promoter comes with a mix barriers for anyone from marginalised backgrounds, the scheme hopes to platform underrepresented people planning to start their careers in music events.

 

Through this programme you will:

  • Receive funding

  • Make venue connections

  • Receive PR + marketing assistance

  • Receive on-hand support + backing from the CPM to co-promote your event

*We are looking to support creatives of colour, women, trans and non-binary people, disabled & neurodiverse people & those from lower socio-economic backgrounds currently under-represented in the industry through this project. If you are from any marginalised background, then we strongly encourage you to apply!
